成因

大部份脊柱側彎都是原因不明，亦有少數的‘先天性’及‘結構性’脊柱側彎的案例。女孩子患脊椎側彎的機會比男孩子高約6-7倍，一般十至十四歲的女孩子比較容易患上脊柱側彎及惡化。

Causes of Scoliosis

Most scoliosis cases are of unknown cause (“idiopathic”). Congenital and Structural scoliosis does play a part in some cases. Statistics show that girls are 6 -7 times more likely to have the problem than boys. Onset usually occurs between the ages of 10 and 14, when the child begins the rapid growth spurt.
